Covers of a Down is a project developed and arranged by Manu Ite (vocals) and Pablo Abarca (chorus, guitars & production). The idea was to create a complete album with covers of the legendary band System of a Down. The only condition was that these covers or versions should be in an acoustic format, in order to make them more interesting and original. Another rule was not touching the standard tune of the guitar, but in one or two songs the change was necessary.
The album was recorded during the months of September, October and November of 2012 in a small studio constructed by Pablo at his own home. All the songs were recorded and produced by Pablo. Funny fact about this, for example, is that the vocals of Hypnotize were recorded in the bathroom of the Conservatory of Amaniel where Pablo & Manu study flute and oboe respectively.
